before he disappeared from his job and he met with her. Perhaps the family was trying to convince him to get out of Liberia before things became worse.

His employer said he didn't resign or give any notice to FedEx. He simply didn't show up for work on 2(?) Sep and the next time his employer heard anything about what had happened to him, it was on the news.
