(2,068 posts)These threads N E V E R offer suggestions or solutions to combating racism. They just go on and on and on and on about whether white people "get it". By and large, white progressives "get it". So these threads are posted ad nausea and pissing matches ensue over definitions or differences of opinion. They are N E V E R constructive in a sense because the posters who post them N E V E R tell me as a white person what I can do or need to do to combat racism in our society. I am aware of the atrocious shooting and killing of unarmed black men. I am aware of the myriad of ways that blacks and minorities are harrassed in their daily lives by LEOs. It sickens me to my core that this goes on in our nation. I vote for liberal/progressive lawmakers in an attempt to right these wrongs. Beyond voting in the right pols, what exactly can we do about these injustices. So from now on, instead of posting these threads in an attempt to get us to get it, and we by and large do, post threads about what we all can do to right the wrongs of racism, institutional or otherwise.
