In reply to the discussion: Indiana trooper pulled over woman to ask if she’d accepted Jesus Christ as her savior: lawsuit [View all]vlyons
(10,252 posts)39. As a Buddhist, I recognize Jesus as a Boddhisattva
who came to teach forgiveness. Something that most of us most definitely need a lot more practice in. But a personal savior? Well I have so many, I guess one more won't hurt. Let's see, I've got Sakyamuni Buddha, Chenrezig, Vajrasattva, Medicine Buddha, Manjushri, Green and White Tara, Vajrapani, Guru Rinpoche, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, well you get the point, I hope.
God is a concept ... in your mind ... a meta-meta-meta-cooncept. And as such, god lives within you as you. Don't believe in a creator god? Well neither do I, but I'm open to the possibility. But never in a million years would I assume that to ask you such a stupid, intrusive, and insulting question. That trooper needs to be sat down and taught about crossing boundaries.

Was the probable cause a lack of God stickers on her car and a blissed out smile?

It's not clear from the article, but it sounds like this was the reason he pulled her over.

I don't care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic Jesus, riding on the dashboard...
