While his major fault may lie in not paying sufficient attention to the Menagerie in StarTrek TOS. This lie has been told for generations. Mostly by my fellow Whites trying to absolve their guilt. Attempting to convince themselves that they and their ancestors were not as bad as history might otherwise indicate. e.g Why yes we rubbed salt into those lash wounds, so you wouldn't get an infection!
