(135,425 posts)I contributed to her campaign and I brought around a hundred voters to the polls to vote for her. I think she's right where she can do the most good -- chairing banking, until a Dem president, maybe someone like that "awful" Clinton, can nominate her as Fed Chair.
I really don't think she ever wanted to take on the "Clinton machine." If she did, she wouldn't have signed that letter, she wouldn't have said NO, no, NO! Nay! and Hell NO, six ways to Sunday when asked about running. I think she likes using the "buzz" as a launch pad for her economic ideas, but just because someone is good at banking doesn't mean they're good at--or even inclined towards getting good at-- other things. She doesn't have the deep resume (something Obama still takes heat for, despite getting a foreign policy whiz as his VP and some extraordinarily knowledgeable SECSTATES) and she doesn't have a charismatic spouse like Obama has.
Performance art--that's what it is, exactly. The only question is ... WHY?
