there was a recent Pew Foundation survey on this that found that hardcore conservatives distrust most news sources and cite Fox, Limbaugh, Hannity and Glenn Beck as their top news sources. Which means that they prefer an echo chamber. Liberals on the other hand were found most likely to get their news from a variety of sources.
