and the state collected $45 million in taxes from recreational and medical sales, licenses, etc between january and august. it even looks like we might be getting an additional tax refund in 2016 (any surplus tax money has to be refunded to residents. i'd like to see that money go to education, mh funding, etc, but tabor isn't going to be repealed any time soon).
