9. Ted's a self promoting super mechanism, and this time of year you can count on him

to say something really disgusting to up his profile prior to the second rate county fair circuit, Ted's financial wheel house for decades. It is a yearly yammering and it is all to pander to the last remaining audience for his dreck. He's a niche freak show at this point, and without some stirring up the hicks in the sticks he won't sell the tix.
In short, he takes political discourse and process into the gutter for his own further enrichment. It's a shameful marketing tool. And he rolls it out each spring like some groundhog of the right wing nonsense circuit.
