Her efforts to fund the Libertarian were pointless since his vote did not matter. The Indies in the 9th tend to break Democratic by a 60-40 margin. She had the good fortune of having a really bad R opponent this time. The R had said 2 years ago that SS was unconstitutional and that tape was used over and over again in the campaign and flyers. Synema had campaign ads saying both parties did bad things. That does not exactly encourage voter support for the party. She won decisively and the district is safe for her until the next redistricting. She will probably run for McCain's seat if he retires.
