But Measure 92 in Oregon was the first time a popular vote nearly brought food labeling about. The latest numbers I saw on the news tonight had the Measure losing by less than 10,000 votes, which is pretty close. If the Oregon legislature doesn't pass a law - and it would probably fetch a petition drive to make it a ballot measure anyway - I think the pro-label folks will make it happen in 2016.
