(550 posts)Obama and then insist that he does the same. You can't have it both ways. Like it or not, that is twice in four years that the voting public have requested that the Republican Party play a huge role in the nation's government. I don't think he'll "sell out" and fall over himself to let them kill ObamaCare, but does he have to go further than he otherwise would in allowing their budgetary demands? Yes, of course; they've been elected to hold congress in its entirety. I've no doubt he'll have to veto some stupid shit over the next two years, but he cannot and should not block everything.
Also, the Democratic senate minority must pick up a huge amount of the burden; it's within their power to filibuster, although those cowards have probably found that it doesn't do well enough with focus groups.
