(3,894 posts)123. This. I was born and raised in the South but circumstances permitted me to live in many other
areas. While I'll concede that there are uninformed people in abundance in the South, I live in the Los Angeles area now, and I'm surrounded by 'em. So I kinda cringe when DUers paint all of the South with such a broad brush. Be aware that many of your fellow DUers are from somewhere you may not like, but they call it home.
