As this election showed, more mainstream GOP candidates have no real issues with tacking right when it suits them, and the GOP is increasingly perfecting ways to shut down the teahadists when necessary. There'll be a lot of grandstanding, but it won't cripple the GOP -- just the opposite, in fact, since it will make Mitch & Co look reasonable and thus worth making a deal with. And our president sure does like the idea of making deals with the GOP...
