I have a question, How many of us (the DU) actually work for or with the Democratic Party? [View all]
This year I personally, was a pain in the ass to everyone I know to get out and vote. I presented the case for a progressive vote. I presented the case for a Democratic vote. I presented the case for an anti-republican vote. However, I had very limited contact and coordination with the official Democratic Party.
I live on disability far under the poverty line in Walker's Wisconsin. I had no money to contribute to the cause. I had time. I spent some of it here, some of it trying to make some supplemental income.
Simply by only advocating at a personal level and here on DU, I was/am part of the problem.
I want my party to work, so I have to work for and within my party. I will attend the meetings and do my best to drag the Democratic Party left and stand it upright. I see a lot of good opinions and excellent points made here; these would go a long way in the Democratic above ground as well.
Lets go make them there.
