12. I cringed at the beginning

"That women aren’t earning .78 cents for every dollar men earn for the exact same work."

Like you started out with the flat earth theory. How can anyone believe that is true?

Not sure I agree about the immigrants either, although I can see how that would be horrible for the kid. My own parents moved to my hometown when I was 2. Suppose they had moved from Canada when I was two and I am 16 and find out I am not a legal American citizen?

Of course, since 2000, I would be more than happy to move up north and claim my Canadian citizenship.

Republicans have no intention of trying to do the things that are important to you, and the people who voted them in would not want them to. Interesting that Reagan did get hammered in 1986, Senate went from 47-53 to 55-45 and Democrats picked up 5 seats in the Democratic controlled House, but 258 was still well below the 291, 292, 277 of the three Congresses before Reagan's election.

And wow, even Ike got hammered. In 1958, Republicans lost 15 seats in the Senate and 48 (!!) seats in the House. And so did FDR, losing 6 seats in the Senate and something like 80 (!!!!!) seats in the House. The country always turns on its second term Presidents apparently.

Doesn't make the loss in Kansas any easier. Brownback deserved to be refudiated. Who knows what evil he will render in his 2nd term? There is NO opposition.
