There was an incredible lot to gain from her disappearing before this whistleblowing. In an odd way, many guilty parties should hope no bolt of lightning should strike her. (Like Brando said in the Godfather) It would be attributed to a guilty class of bankers and lend weight to the case against them.
Who knows, maybe she was under unfriendly surveillance and decided she had to act.
Hmm, actually, she might need such a defense, if she's in technical violation of a law.
