88. People here on DU for YEARS kept asking Skinner to Open Up

Discussion to RW...whatever that "Rim Job" or whatever site was...so that people could Discuss here with them. Skinner always resisted.

But...I felt that DU Admins were upset about 2012 Dem Convention...and sick of the Politics of it all after that...and felt there were better ways to spend their efforts than just listening to "endless arguments" amongst Dems of "All Stripes + Trolls" and it just became boring. "DU Groups" where few Participated after begging to HAVE A GROUP and just the Endless Angst of Policing the Place became overwhelming once they had family and kids to raise.

I went over to "Discussionist" a few times...and it was cold to me and not inviting with Topics and Groups like Original DU..but I thought would appeal to very young people used to sparring on their I-Phones or whatever Mobiles for quick trashing of each other.

It wasn't DU...but, then DU wasn't always what we thought it was, either.

Anyway....the way things are going...I applaud them for starting that site which was long requested by some here on DU...and hope that they do make some money out of it. We are long past the days of "Dem Party Building" on Democratic Sites...so life moves on and people have to feed themselves and families.
