Prison factories paying 20 cents and hour and profiting the prison industry. Prison industry lobbying for stiff sentences and supporting continuing the drug war. Drug war used as an excuse to stop Minorities and Young people. Stiff sentences handed out. Prisoners working in factories to get good time. Politicians campaigns funded in part by prison industry. Politicians vote stiffer sentences. The cycle continues and the people hurt are us. Nobody cared that many in the system for 20 years or more were non violent. Millions of non violent men getting more tine than a child rapist or a second degree murderer or a home invasion robber. And many of those were addicts or trying to feed families who are now on welfare. How is this not slavery? They have to work for their freedom or sit around with murderers and rapists all day.
