I hope your kitty was able to move on or get a new friend
That's how we got our second cat, the older one was mourning so badly when his older friend died. I had never seen anything like it and it just broke my heart. And though I wasn't ready to get a new cat (because I was a wreck), we did for him. It worked out great and now they're inseparable.
Anyone who says that animals don't have any emotions or cognition is an idiot or hasn't spent much time around animals. They have so much personality and love. I hope your kitty is ok!
