In reply to the discussion: Walmart’s ‘Made In USA’ Televisions Are Allegedly Made In China [View all]4lbs
(7,395 posts)However, the artwork makes a customer think that the TV is made in the USA, with the patriotic-style flag and such. That's the subliminal advertising.
I work for an online seller of clothing apparel and shoes. Very little of what we sell is Made in the USA.
The brands we do sell that are Made in the USA are *SOME* (not all) New Balance shoes, Pro Club T-shirts (but not fleece pants or sweatshirts), Carhartt clothing, and On-Field AC Perf New Era hats.
Other than those, nearly everything we sell is "Made in China", "Made in Taiwan", "Made in <Insert Central or South American country>", "Made in Indonesia", "Made in India", or "Made in Vietnam".
Ironically, one of our fellow business partners who has a store in China said that his Chinese customers don't like buying things "Made in China", because they know those things are crap. They look for "Made in the USA", because that is a status symbol there.
