40. My point is

It's November, cold temps like this usually do not hit as far south as now,
nor blanket the US as totally as now.
Normally Puget Sound is around 35-40 lows ( my home state) until Jan or so.
Normally South Ala. is above freezing until late winter.

It is early and it is very cold all over the country, except ( so far) so. Cal. and So. Fla.

And this is year 2 of this arctic dip in the jet stream.
