(6,122 posts)It's not unheard of us for us to have a cold snap in the fall but many times it is well into December or early January before we need our winter clothes or have to worry about outside plants. We should have moved some in to the garage last night but forgot to do that since we were just arriving back home after a 2 week trip and didn't realize how cold it was going to get last night.
Ironically enough (or typical, truth to tell), we'll be back up to 70 or so by next Monday, which is ONE of the reasons so many people like to come here for the winter. Snowbirds know. Cold a day or two or three and then back to more moderate temps.
Not a climate change denier here! I know to take a look at the world-wide patterns and records that are being broken...in both directions. VERY COLD in some places and BLAZING HOT, as well. Records falling....indicating something is going on. So deny what you will, but the climate doesn't care if you believe or deny. It's gonna do what it's gonna do, regardless of your belief or lack of it. It would be nice to think we can reverse the trend but we may have dithered too long and the change has been set in motion.
