Well did you watch the debate in congress when the head of the Post Office showed up a few months back? Heck even a few weeks back?

Point is this: last year the Post Office was $5 Billion in the hole... meaning it lost $5,000,000,0000

This year it has already lost $3,000,000,0000 and still bleeding.

One major problem is the post office is allowed to raise rates at an astonishing low rate. One thing you do not realize is that the UPS and FedEx are not gouging you at their rates. The post office is broke at their rates..... I do think with the next congress and senate, irregardless of party, they will take off the restraints on the postage fees and allow rates to climb. You and I won't like it but to pay the service, you pay the price. Right now the Post Office has to have the permission of congress if I remember right.
