15. I've been DVR-ing my favorite shows

just in order to avoid the commercials. Not only because of the annoyingly repetitive ones, the ones with hard-sell messages or hawking useless products, or urging folks to join one branch of the military or another, but now, because of the over-use of Christmas -- music, visuals, messages, etc. All designed to force you into a buying mood. The message is SPEND! SPEND! MORE! MORE! FASTER! FASTER!. Christmas this year started the day after Halloween, FFS! I'm sick of Christmas already.

And, for the one or two of you who might wonder, NO I don't go Christmas shopping. I figured out several years ago that buying THINGS for others is futile -- wrong size, wrong color, wrong item. So for my kids and grandchild, I make pretty greeting cards and put cash in the card. Who can't use cash? They can use it on whatever they wish, they can use the money individually or pool it and purchase something or put it towards their next vacation. Totally their choice. And money will never be returned or re-gifted.
