DuPont, Burlington Industries, Dow Chemical and many other corporations that did not market consumer products.

Railroads and container ship companies advertise on TV even though none of us will ever ship thousands of tons of cargo.

I also worked for a major pharmaceutical company more than 30 years ago, before consumer advertising was permitted.

We ran corporate image TV ads.

As for leverage on content, you can make the same claim for any advertiser. If Stewart makes a joke about Fruit Loops will Kellogg's pull their ads?
