3. Because he listened to political consultants in DC

With the predictable outcome in the States. He was never going to win anyone over by not doing this before the election, but did manage to de-motivate millions in his base. If he had moved on immigration like he said was going to, he would have given a badly needly rallying cry. Why can't Obama ever strike when the iron is hot? There is something so reluctant in his nature, it's maddening.
It was the same thing during his first term when people were ruined and furious about the banks. He was elected in big part to take them on - - instead we get Rahm, Summers and Geitner. He had an historic chance on healthcare, and he turns to keys over to - - - Max Baucus!!!! Thank god, we have Obamacare, but so many of the problems getting it out were self-inflicted.
