40. What exacerbates the problem

is the APPEARANCE of bias on the part of the Prosecutor. In a perfect system (which we obviously don't have), he would have recused himself or been removed by the district attorney, or whoever is his superior. The failure to appear unbiased underlines the fact that no one at all can expect a fair chance. Anger and disruption out of frustration is the result.

I worked my entire career in the legal field -- corporate paralegal. Fortunately, my exposure to the court system was very limited.
