(20,049 posts)Luckily my family who are RW know they're out numbered and keep their mouths shut. None of the the majority of my family speak of political things (or religion) on the holidays, so no rightist get upset either. That's what I love about my leftist family members, they're kind and don't do the ganging up thing. There are 363 (adding in Christmas) other days of the year to show your ass, why choose to do it on the one when your great grandmother/father/aunt/uncle/yourself may be experiencing their last holiday? That's just too nasty for words!
For those not so fortunate, my love and wishes for peace tomorrow. I've been there before and I won't go there again. Personally, I'd just stay home and beg off I had the flu or something if I thought it was going to devolve into a crapfest, even when I'm not actively involved. Who has time in their lives for that kind of mess? The family members who pull that crap should just not be invited for the peace of the majority of the family.
