For YEARS I went through the effort of providing counter-arguments loaded with facts and official data, impassioned appeals to reason and examples that touched their own lives, to no avail. These people are incapable of understanding, and what they don't understand they simply reject. They are not like us; I sometimes imagine they are another species entirely. Furthermore, when I approached the respectfully I might initially receive the same treatment but inevitably they lost patience with having to think and lashed out. I always ended up feeling sick to my stomach to be reminded that I share the planet with such creatures. This past year I weaned myself from the notion that their ignorance was my problem and I'm done with it. Let them go ahead and "secdee" and be done with it. I'll be glad to never have to interact with them again.
