Smothered in gravy, accompanied by dark meat, the absolute best of the bird. Yup, sweet potatoes are great, as long as stupid marshmallows aren't involved. Rutabaga is obligatory, also smothered in gravy.
For desert, mince meat pie, preferably from scratch like my mother made it. And, of course, pumpkin pie, smothered in real whipped cream.
Tongue in cheek rant follows:
(Fuck Dream Whip, or as most people call it, Nightmare Whip. It's like mayonnaise and Miracle Whip -- the latter is a miracle if one prefers it. One might surmise that the advertisements wish us to all be whipped into submission. By that standard one should know that Scientology is Religion Whip, which it is, and for the same reasons.)
