(1,673 posts)There is no way this was a "mistake" or "oversight". I know from personal experience, that no attorney is going to pull up a case or statute from nearly 40 years ago and not re-check to make sure it is good law. Plus Lexis/Westlaw/The State Supreme court websites all have the most modern versions of statutes on their sites. This is where modern attorneys print out their information. The only way you would copy/print a 40 year old statute is if you intentionally sought it out.
Personally I needed to look for older versions of statutes, in my own state, and found it to be difficult. I needed see what a statute said in the 50s, to compare it to the modern statute, I was researching. I ended up having to go to our State Legislature's library to get that information.
