(18,186 posts)If our voting really is inconsequential, then Repukes wouldn't fight so hard to deny us that right. They would not have gerrymandered the US into regions that are shaped like no communities ever.
They would not be turning way octogenarian men and women at the polls.
If overwhelming numbers of voters show up to cast ballots, the corrupt officials wherever will have a much harder time fudging results and wont attempt election fraud. If polls were completely invalid, we certainly would not have Obama.
Also, when humans show up, TPTB understand that people are ready to take action.
Not voting is a forgivable offense for the disenfranchised who have lost the right to vote.
Not voting is never excused for wimps, losers, whiners, the apathetic or the lazy.
Yes, I am a judgmental nag on this issue, and I have failed to vote myself when I should have.
Self-hate makes me show up to atone.
