will be releasing an interim report on Monday. Nothing Earth shattering is likely to be in there. It will consolidate and organize the testimony and evidence so far. It also notes that the investigation is on hold (still) as the U.S. Attorney CONTINUES their investigation. I don''t have a great deal of faith in this U.S. Attorney's office, but at least the investigation is still ongoing.
Christie bridge scandal report from legislative panel to be released Monday
An interim report by a joint legislative committee looking into the September 2013 George Washington Bridge access lane closures has been completed, and will be made public following a hearing in Trenton on Monday, the panel's co-chairman said.
State Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) said the report, compiled by the committtee's special counsel, Reid Schar, would be made available to members of the Legislative Select Committee on Investigation on Thursday. Wisniewski declined to discuss specifics of the report, or even to say whether he had read it.
"The report will speak for itself," Wisniewski said.
The completion of the interim report was first reported by polickerj.com.
Wisniewski did say the report would contain a recap of what had been learned to date by the joint panel, as well as by the Assembly Transportation, Public Works and Independent Authorities Committee, which he also chairs and which had begun an investigation into Port Authority finances and operations following a controversial toll hike approved in 2011.
The committee's information has been gleaned through testimony and subpoenaed documents, including an email from a former deputy chief of staff in Gov. Chris Christie's office, Bridget Anne Kelly, telling a Christie-backed official at the Port Authority, David Wildstein, "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee."
