(24,331 posts)42. You're again managing to prove you have NO understanding or perspective.
The actual truth is that the country has moved considerably leftwards since the 1930s, to a point where things like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other social programs are only "controversial" for the right-most ~30% of the population, if that. Not to mention labor laws, minimum wages, etcetera.
A liberal today is advocating positions far, far to the left of what a liberal would have been doing 80 years ago.
