In reply to the discussion: Why Elizabeth Warren Left The GOP [View all]ucrdem
(15,720 posts)20. Here's what her wiki bio said last week, from a post I never finished:
She says she was a Republican. What she doesn't admit to is voting for Reagan. As for when she switched parties, Stephanapolous said it was in 1996, but her wiki bio, which I'm guessing she's at least looked over, being a US Senator, says 1995:
Warren voted as a Republican for many years saying, "I was a Republican because I thought that those were the people who best supported markets". She states that in 1995 she began to vote Democratic because she no longer believed that to be true, but she says that she has voted for both parties because she believed that neither party should dominate.

That's sourced to an Oct. 2011 Daily Beast article:
Warren adds that she voted for both Republicans and Democrats and thought that neither party deserved to dominate. There should be some Republicans and some Democrats, she says.

Does this make her insincere, hypocritical, or a bad person? Not necessarily , but it does cast doubt on her lefty bona fides, and complicates a potential presidential candidacy.
...............
p.s. I just checked and it's all still in there.

Very disconcerting that so many fucked up things about the GOP don't seem on her radar at all.
