involve too many people knowing too much.

Nonsense. Look how many people have to have known just how depraved the torture was and just how much the torture corrupted the 9/11 Commission Report, the legislation and policy that moved us into Iraq and a number of other events including even the Valerie Plame scandal.

All it takes is a very small number of people perpetrating a great crime -- AND THE MECHANISMS THAT PROTECT SECRETS -- in high places, and you can have a conspiracy of enormous proportions.

That's what makes conspiracies. That's how they work. Throughout history.

Don't be too quick to pooh-pooh conspiracy theories. You don't have to believe everything.

But think about Bin Laden. He was being protected by high-ups in Pakistan. Who would'a thought they could do that without our knowing a lot sooner precisely where he was and what he was doing. Or did we know? Did Bush know all along and cover it up in order to have yet another reason to excite Americans into fearing and fighting?
