(39,215 posts)torture in the 80s. That is the era that Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine" details the work of the Chicago Boys (University of Chicago grads) and trickle down austerity in that area. That was the era that American economic organizations tested the idea of "disaster capitalism" out in Latin America. They used torture against Labor Union leaders and others who protested against the austerity measures use in this test. Many victims just plain disappeared.
I think all we need to do is follow the dots. Papa Bush was VP and was once CIA. No one named him directly but many assume that he had more to do with the South American wars etc going on then than raygun did. Just like Cheney had much to do with W.
If the above is true then there is no reason that his son would not follow his lead and use torture as part of his grand plan. Both Cheney and W were involved.
