(164 posts)people who are afraid that if Hillary does not run, the Democratic Party will lose, and this country will go so far to the right it's scary to think about. My personal opinion is that President Obama has tried to promote some positive things, but the Republicans made it too difficult.
But . . . the problem with Mrs. Clinton, aside from the fact that she's been the consummate neo-liberal in foreign relations and a strong supporter of Wall Street, is that there's this air about her that she's entitled to be nominated because it's her turn. Just check the history books to see how similarly entitled politicians fared in races. In Maryland, Anthony Brown (Martin O'Malley's lieutenant governor) was so entitled, he didn't feel like he had to debate, and he lost to a republican in an overwhelmingly blue state.
My feeling is that what we need is a Democrat who is not afraid to run on progressive issues, look people straight in the eye, and tell truth to power.
