They won't be more careful because no matter what they do, no matter how bad the break things, their base will still be there to vote for them because they have been taught to hate every liberal on the planet. Remember that with only a 38% or so turnout this year, the republicans won, so that means that of the few that did turnout the majority of them were republicans.

If they are allowed to write a new Omnibus bill after the end of this year, you can bet they will take on Obmacare funding, the immigration issue, EPA, and all kinds of things they hate and want repealed or defunded. There is no way they will give a shit about Obama vetoing the bill, they will just keep blaming it all on him and the MSM will help them spread that meme.

Meanwhile millions of Americans will be hurt by the government shutdown. I don't think keeping the government shut down is worth "wishing" for a better bill to be written by a republican controlled congress.
