241. We did have Progressive Activism...through the Bush Years..

Fighting to get the corruptable Electronic Voting Machines out of our Elections working for Candidates who would support our positions with Act Blue and exposing the Bush/Cheny crimes and "9/11" questions.

We attended Demonstrations against the Iraq Invasion in Cities and Locally that went on for years. Supported Cindy Sheehan and others who challenged Bush working for Peace. Worked to give control of House and Senate to Dems in 2006 making Pelosi "Madam Speaker." Dem Activism helped build the Internet as we know it from the early days of "Windows 95" through our Blogs and Progressive Leaning Websites.

It was "Not to Be" once the Campaign for 2008 began between Hillary and Obama.

Rahm Emmanuel and the Party Powers that Be....made sure that" Progressive/Anti-Iraq Invasion/Hold Bush/Cheney Accountable Movement Activists" were put "Under the Bus"....where they stayed. Funding dried up for many Progressive Activist Sites & Blogs and attacks and name calling (Firebaggers, etc.) were used to belittle those who wanted more Progressive Democrats elected. "Compromise" was the word and too much hope was invested in Obama to really be the "Change You Can Believe In."

That is a very simplified explanation, but those of us who've been on this site since it was founded lived through it.
