4. Do people realize that he was punished after he said this speech??

Did they watch the movie?? This proves that he was arrogant and only he thought he could protect us. Except he didn't protect Private Santiago, the weakest among his group. He had him killed for no reason except that he was weak. So if they want to claim Jack Nicholson as their hero from A Few Good Men, they need to watch the entire movie and not nitpick what they think is good about it.

Sounds like those people who pick which passages they want to respect in the Bible!
