away from people based on some political wild hair and certainly can't subscribe to doing so without due process.

I'm sure some moron will accuse me of being a NAZI sympathizer or some foolishness but fuck em, they would be dumber than dogshit, the process is absurd and before long some peckerwood will decide that the idea should be expanded perhaps starting with child molesters or some other abhorrent group and slowly expand the reach until they can steal people's money for reasons few would hop onto now but after boiling the frog a bit will seem less outlandish, particularly as the pressure for general cuts increases.

This is a really bad idea and by definition is of little to no actual consequence at the budget level, just grandstanding with a camel's nose that few would complain about slipping under the tent.
