but the FACT is that he's still dead. And had Zimmerman not played cop- without authority or actual training, there is no doubt in any thinking persons mind that we would not be talking about either Trayvon Martin, or George Zimmerman today.

Zimmerman's associate degree in criminal justice was nothing but a piece of paper if he didn't grasp the stupidity of what he did that rainy sunday evening by carrying a gun in his 'role' as neighborhood watch, and pursuing someone rather than observing them. He did NOT have the right or duty to confront Trayvon Martin after he'd reported his 'concern' to the proper authorities.

As for the sometimes exaggerated claim of weight difference, does it matter? He had the advantage of a loaded deadly weapon, and claims to have had training in what proper procedure was for dealing with people that he found noteworthy.

He fucked up- royally. That is a FACT. Trayvon's family didn't "lose" their son/brother/etc. His life was TAKEN by the actions of George Zimmerman. That is another FACT.

No matter how uncomfortable and troubling you may find it.
