(6,499 posts)I've seen too many alerts in the last couple of months where if someone plainly says someone is ignorant about something, they get alerted on and called out for being rude.
Everything is rude.
Sometimes you need to be blunt about things. This whole angle is just fucking ridiculous. Seriously. It comes down to one of those things where it just makes you want to throttle people.
How many times do we watch the news and see someone talking about something we know intimately and passionately and it's completely wrong. Utterly and completely wrong.
That's what this is.
To call this a PR stunt?
It just shows an amazing and absolute ignorance and lack of understanding of how this business works.
Utterly.
And no amount of nice, calm, smile inducing explanations about it will change someones mind.
Because to them, SOMETHING STINKS AROUND HERE. Because they don't understand it. They see conspiracy theories everywhere. Someone must be to blame. Don't trust anyone. They're all out to get you. Etc, etc etc.
So when you see things you know a whole lot about, and is in fact part of your business, being bandied about like a teenager with concepts they don't understand, you just lay it down bluntly.
