(56,199 posts)sure, there's a pr effort, now, to *salvage* what they can out of this debacle.
but odds are good that this movie will make less than it otherwise would have.
worse, it could have a lasting effect on going to movies. fine, maybe some people will go to this particular movie, who otherwise wouldn't have, out of defiance to north korea. but what about all future movies? if this is a "stunt", then it's a stunt that makes people afraid to go to movie theaters.
why on earth would a movie studio want to make people fear for their lives by going to a movie theater?
do you think they benefit from people being scared to go to theaters?
it won't be an act of defiance to go to see any future movie, but the fear that a movie theater will be a terrorist target will linger.
it this was all a pr stunt it's one of the stupidest pr stunts ever.
