(33,688 posts)NEVER went away. They went underground for forty years or so but they never disappeared. Their goal was to make the US a fascist/corporate state and their dream never changed. When they re-emerged in the 1970s their first objective was to refashion the M$M into pure propaganda conduits. It took 20 years but they accomplished that. Once the propaganda machinery, including the fundy "churches" was in place, the rest was fairly simple - dumb down the populace as dramatically and quickly as possible. Public education was another top target. We now have a huge segment of the population who have been propagandized non-stop for 35 years and who have the critical thinking skills of a fern. Sheeple like that are very easy to lead in to the capitalist/feudal abbatoir that was the other prong of their plan.
Fascism has come to the US just as Sinclair Lewis warned it would - wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.
