Their caterer was ready for the alternate venue, which was nearby and was a better --ocean view--location. The move improved the wedding and the President's call made the couple's day, as noted up thread.

I imagine the golf course manager did not tell the President's staff because the couple were already on notice the President might play there during that time and they would have to change venue.
