142. I have 3 different versions.

All are kindle fires and they all work decently. The newest one is the best, it takes photos, has games, and surfs the net along with being a reader. My kids and my husband use those. I just use my kindle app that I have on my iPad.
If you go on Amazon and choose a category select kindle , then whatever type of book like dystopian, then sort it by lowest to highest. The free books will be first. There are thousands. They have most classics for free. I have Oliver Twist in English, German, and French and Don Quixote in English and Spanish. I think I may own about 300 free books and a couple thousand that I bought.
I no longer purchase paper books.
They have a sharing program to where you can lend and borrow books from other people with Kindle Accounts. I haven't used it yet, since I'm behind on my reading.
If you learn how, you can borrow my books.
