Off topic: My wife just told me of Face Book comments where Palin's supporters are diverting criticism of the dog-abuse incident thusly: "Well, at least Trig didn't eat the dog Like Obama did.", referring of course to the anecdote Obama himself reported of a childhood incident in Indonesia during which he was served a portion of dog-meat.

False-equivalency is their mainstay.
