As a rule of thumb, one might surmise that if you can feel the ribs with your toes, the dog might be too thin and not take your weight properly. However, more research could provide the ultimate dog weight/human weight combinations that would allow you to stand on your dog without concern for its safety.
I also like this chart in that it shows cat sizes for those of us who wish to stand on our cats...
